Before 2020, I would love to throw a line in my dating app profile “love conspiracy theories” to let the person know that I am into all that “stuff” like aliens, big foot, time travel. Just really fun stuff to wonder “what if…?” But now conspiracy theories are on a whole ‘nother level, and I am slowly backing away (insert YIKES emoji face) from people diving deep into them. For me, 2019 has been a slow, steady disillusionment from many spiritual things (see my post on Reiki, New Age Frauds, Attending a starred class, and I had a post on the Ayahuasca retreat I went to, but they sued me so that’s down). But even through my disillusioned state of spiritual people and some ideas, I still believe in many others.
Before you dive further into this post: 1. Its not supposed to be political- I am not making political statements and do not want to argue with anyone. 2. I have not done any intense research into these subjects, the purpose is to express what I am witnessing from my perspective (which is ever-changing). Then came 2020, and spiritual accounts and companies I subscribed to started posting things heavy on conspiracy about the government, vaccines, reptilians, 5G, New World Order- and so on. At first I dove in. You probably caught me re-posting some David Icke videos and talking about David Wilcock (should we all stay away from Davids?) My friend sent me the plandemic video- and others sent me multiple Rashid Buttar videos… and all this stuff seemed so wild! A part of me felt, these things could be true! If I did repost anything I never stated it was my truth, but moreso said “here is an interesting video, if you’re into conspiracies” I couldn’t 100% jump on board with them, but my background in new-age spirituality made it easy for my brain to almost get there. Listening to David Wilcock (whom some might trust if they trust the Gaia network), who seems to be a QAnon puppet, is where I first really heard about this whole Q - thing. At first Q seems like a spiritual person who knows THE TRUTH, I wanted to know more. But months later I have come to see that the Q - thing is a political thing. It’s so interesting and amazing that most spiritual /yoga / new-age people seem to be liberal/left, and Q is converting to them to the right. (I am not saying either right or left political parties are “correct” or “good”) I know very little about hypnosis, brainwashing and propaganda, but how incredible is it to see that this unknown Q person is entrancing people who are susceptible to woo-woo ideas over to a particular political party. It gets troublesome for me, when I follow and love some messages from spiritual accounts, and then they come out with the video stating that Trump is the savior. I get really confused because it feels like my body and soul rejects that sentiment, but I have loved all of these people’s other messages. How could this be? One could say that the essence that is Trump was possibly needed- his reign exposed just how bad America can be or still is in regards to so many injustices. Without him, would all these injustices have been thrown in our face, that we needed to see, that we need to work on? So in a way one could say its a good thing, to have a bad person in office- so now we can get to work to fix things. But is he the lightworker “savior” ehhh.. no. I try to be pretty neutral and carry on watching the content that has been so helpful to me, but I start to question these people’s vulnerability (and sanity?). Some say they have even received this information from their spiritual guides through channeling. Thats almost another topic, for another day.. channeling. How does one know they are channeling “beings of light” and its not something from their imagination conjured up from deep subtle hypnosis, suggestions, and a compilation of who they surround themselves with. I’m still internally working through all of this. Just watching what happens, not knowing the answers to any of these conspiracies, or if they aren’t conspiracies at all and turn out to be truth. I’m floating in the middle, wading, watching. Watching crops of influencers who are more like cult leaders pop up and spout things they have no background on. Watching people with “Doctor” titles that feel like they just are doing it for ‘likes’ (Buttar). Listening to the same amount of spiritual podcasts/content as I am skeptics content. Right now the Conspirituality Podcast has been a great listen. I am not saying I agree with all their content, or that they are experts, but it’s refreshing to hear a new point of view if you are dizzy from the new-age spirituality conspiracies and don’t know which way to go, like me. I had recently posted on instagram, that for the past maybe 20 years I placed myself in the cult that is new-age spirituality- its one without just 1 charismatic leader. I allowed myself to get led down a path because I so full-heartedly needed to be guided to the truth of what life is about. I went in with full trust, wanting to believe in the magic that places like Hay House publishers pumped out. I hope that everyone is open to new ideas, can admit when they change course. This is how we grow.
